Living in Nullsec, Part I (OOC)

So, as a part of Greenbeard's Freebooters, I have moved out to 0.0 with Split Infinity. I have to say, it is a very interesting experience. Thus far, all I have with me are my T3 and a Harbinger, so money isn't flowing as easily as others have said it does. I'm sure that if I can get something larger out here, ISK efficiency will improve, but for now, I'm content doing Hubs and playing bodyguard for the newer members of GF, Lozyjoe and Caveat Emptor Tempora. Ultimately, we moved out here to get a bit of PvP action, so a lack of PvE efficiency isn't very high on my list of worries at the moment.

In the realm of PvP, I went out on a shield BC roam in my Harbinger, and had an interesting experience. About 11 of us kept about 60 Intergalactic Exports Group holed up in a station in Detorid. The roam got us 1 kill and 1 loss, but our ISK efficiency was a lot better than the 1:1 kill:loss showed, since we could have bought about 8 of those Blackbirds with that one Nemesis kill. The only thing I didn't much care for was how much we cut and ran, especially since a majority of the time we were outside my targeting and turret range (SeBo and beams next time, for sure, or just a Drake, once skills allow). Would have been nice if the guys had actually engaged us at all (we were harassed by a crow multiple times, but nobody could lock him down enough to get a kill), but we can always try again later.

One thing I have to say is that the alliance is very welcoming, and I'm very much enjoying my time there. Let's see what the future holds, and hope that I don't get killed too many times.

For now, Teh Smit, out.

Extreme(ly Stupid) Missioning (OOC)

So Seismic Stan got it into his head that we should do something different when missioning, just to spice things up.

He decided that we needed to do missions in Rookie Ships.  We'd start with level 1 missions and work our way up until we couldn't complete them anymore.  We got up to a level 3 when we got stopped.  You can read all about our escapades here.

Teh Smit: Introduction (IC)

Being born on Tash-Murkon Prime as a Khanid was at times an ordeal. Knowing that the people you lived amongst had taken your heritage's place in the Royal Families, especially when they weren't even true Amarrians, was very trying at times.

Anyway, my schooling was inadequate, as I was forced to learn military tactics and how to fight on my own. Though battles are now fought in space instead of on the ground, we Khanid still take pride in physical prowess. After ground school, I enlisted in the Imperial Academy, studying strategy, tactics and other sundry military applications. After graduating at the top of my class, I was offered a chance to lead my own squadrons into battles, putting my learning to use as a capsuleer.

Needless to say, I took the offer. And that is where my story truly begins...

GLORY TO KING KHANID AND THE KHANID KINGDOM!

Vsmit: The Early Years (IC)

I graduated from the Pator Tech School at the end of YC 111, but my story does not begin there.  I was born and raised on the planet designated as Leurtmar VI, a temperate planet in the Metropolis region of Minmatar space.  My upbringing was the same as any other Brutor: strict but kind.  There was one major difference between myself and the other children, though.  I was blind.  Not simply that my optic nerves had become detached, but my eyes did not have lenses, the iris and cornea were milky white, as though my eyes had rolled back and the pupils were not visible.  While this "handicap" meant that I could not interact with things the way a normal child could, I was always at or near the top of my class.  I also discovered an amazing proficiency with both spatial reasoning and spatial memory, in some cases better than that of the instructor.  Soon, I was walking as though I wasn't blind, with no assistance other than what my ears and brain afforded me.  Blindness was no longer a hinderance, merely a conversation point.

After I completed my requisite education planetside, I applied to the Pator Technology School as an engineering student.  When I was accepted, I was offered an implant that allowed me to control a pair of tiny camera drones to act as my eyes, and my world simply exploded outward.  Suddenly I was actually seeing things, instead of conceptualizing them.  I mean, I knew what a chair was, I knew the basic shape, but I had no idea that they could be so intricate, the craftsmanship so delicate.  While my world expanded exponentially, my mental capacities also grew.  The functionality of the drones allowed me to see the dimensions of objects in real-time, depending on what I was focusing on.  Let me tell you, I was everybody's friend when someone needed to move from one dormitory to another.  Making sure stuff could fit through a door was my specialty.

5 years later, I graduated from the Tech School with honors, and was asked to take part in the prestigious Capsuleer program that they offered.  As an engineering student, I had learned how the ships worked, but flying them was a completely different matter...

Introduction

So here I am.  Started yet another blog about Eve Online.  I've been playing for a bit over a year, and I've been hooked since the first month.  I am currently a mission runner/miner living in hisec (not a carebear, just because I live here doesn't mean I don't like PvP from time to time), working out of The Citadel and Domain.

This blog will basically cover the history of my three characters (Three dimensions, ha ha ha), and their tales of high adventure in New Eden, from their own personal perspective.  This may or may not be an in character or out of character blog, so I'll have to make sure that I mention which is which in the blog titles.  Rule of thumb: if the author of the particular post is not Vsmit, it's almost definitely going to be an IC post.  Vsmit, it could go either way.

All three characters take time out of their day to visit the Old Pond Pub [CHANNEL] in-game, but you can find their basic profiles here:

Vsmit
Agent Smitty
Teh Smit

I'll get around to actually starting this thing off soon, so stay tuned, tell your friends and fly safe.
